President's Report: Lorraine Jenne

Happy New Year GMHRA Community!  Thank you to all who joined us at our holiday mixer/annual meeting.  What a pleasure it was to see you in person and share some holiday cheer.  Please join me in congratulating our new President-Elect, Jess Fredette, Chief Human Resources Officer for our area VNA.  In her role, Jess will be responsible for chairing our Program Committee.  Jess brings great energy to our Board, and I know she will be a welcome addition.

Given that it is a new year, it is the time to set those goals that help propel us forward.  This month, the GMHRA Board is having its annual retreat to set our chapter goals and priorities and we would like to hear your suggestions for programs you would like to see.  Please let us hear your ideas by emailing Sarah Butson at [email protected] by January 24th.  We will do our best to attend to the ideas we receive.

Membership Update

Happy 2024 everyone.  My name is Jodie Sheehy and I am currently an HR Manager at General Electric in Rutland.  I’m continuing in my role for the GMHRA Board as the Membership Director, and we are striving to increase our membership this year by facilitating some key trainings and discussions to make all of our jobs just a little easier (or at least introduce us to some new HR friends that we can share best practices with).  Either way we look forward to a great year ahead.  Please invite others from your businesses or friends in HR to become a member.

  • Basic individual GMHRA membership – Non-SHRM Member: $75.00 renewal | $60.00 New Member
  • Discounted GMHRA membership – Active SHRM Member: $55.00 renewal | $40.00 New Member

  • BLS resources on employment, occupational wages, benefits provisions, and working conditions.
  • How to navigate the BLS website to find the data you need.

The presentation will be held via Zoom on January 25, 2024. You can register for the event here. We hope to see you there!
